Our services
Our services at Christ Church on Sunday are the heart of who we are as a church - where we come together as a parish to worship God and learn about Him and the Good News of Christ. All are welcome, for more information about these please check the column to the right or contact us
8am Communion
A quieter reflective way to start Sunday, this is a traditional service with Communion in the church.
10am Service
This is our main service of the day where typically there will be songs and hymns, reading from the bible, prayer and a talk or sermon. On the first and third Sundays of the month there is also Communion as part of the service. Typically the services last around an hour and a quarter.
Children and youth groups are run in church house during the service or part of it, except for the 2nd Sunday in the month which is our all age Family Worship service. This is a shorter, more lively service, perhaps with a drama or illustrated talk - and the Guides and Brownies will often be there as well.
Musically we are very blessed to have so many talented people who lead us in worship - and on a typical Sunday we will mix up contemporary and traditional songs and hymns so we hope that there will be something that everyone will like.
This is also the service when we celebrate events like Mothering Sunday and Harvest Festival, as well as the main service on Easter Day and Christmas Day.
After this service all are then welcome into the hall for fairtrade tea or coffee and refreshments for the children. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other!
11.30am Mattins
This is a traditional service held only on the 2nd Sunday in the month in the church.
6.30pm Create*
This is a much more informal, and as the name implies, creative service held in the Hall next to the Church. The talk and the service are often given and led by members of the congregation and the music is contemporary in style. There is no set pattern to the services nor do we follow any liturgy.
The talks often follow a series, so for example we have looked at the Lord's Prayer in detail over 7 weeks recently taking it verse by verse.
There might also be a drama and after the talk a prayer and response time that might include some activity such as a prayer wall.

6.30 Evensong
Again this is a traditional service held on the 4th Sunday in the month in the church.
