We are one community, unified in God’s purposes for us, yet we express our worship of God in different ways. Our priority is to provide ways for you to meet with God through Jesus Christ in worship and through hearing and applying the Bible in your real life today.

Curious? Interested? Committed? Wherever you are in your beliefs, we will welcome you to our services, and hope that you will feel at home. At the 10am service there is always a staffed creche for under 3s as well as a range of children’s  Groups.

Fairtrade coffee is served after the 10am and 6.30pm services.

The Inauguration of the Right Reverend Andrew Watson as Tenth Bishop of Guildford will take place at 11am on Saturday 28th February 2015 in Guildford Cathedral.

Bishop Andrew was announced  by Downing Street as the 10th Bishop of Guildford on 26 September 2014.

During the service, Bishop Andrew will be welcomed by members of different faith and civic communities, on an occasion which marks the formal commencement of his new ministry.

As well as being a celebration, there is a legal importance to the ceremony, as the new Bishop will make oaths in accordance with law and the statutes of the Cathedral. The service will begin in dramatic fashion, as the new Bishop knocks on the West Door of the Cathedral three times with his crozier, to request entrance.

Because of demand to attend this service, it will be a ticketed occasion to ensure that representatives from a widest range of parishes and communities are able to attend.

Details of tickets and further information about the event will be released in the near future, and it is asked that people refrain from writing to request tickets at this stage.

For those who are unable to attend Bishop Andrew will also preach at both the 10.45am Eucharist and 6.30pm Evensong services in Guildford Cathedral the following day on Sunday 1 March, allowing those who are unable to attend the service on 7th to share in worship with the new bishop, and to hear him preach during his inaugural weekend.

The Diocese of Guildford has also released a video which follows Bishop Andrew through the Diocese of Guildford on the day of his announcement, which you can view online:
